Blogging is beneficial in the classroom because it allows students to share their true thoughts, feelings, and ideas about course material. They are also able to engage in public discourse with their classmates, teacher, and other students in other classes too. This helps students participate in group forums where ideas are exchanged, opinions are discussed in a productive way, and comments are provided (Covili 72). This also provides a structures opportunity for students to practice digital citizenship and being respectful towards others with differing views. This is increasingly important in the digital world we are in today because there are so many "keyboard warriors" and this greatly affects students' mental health.
